Duties of a Nanny and Babysitting Jobs:

Part of your duties you may be required to perform may include, but not limited to:
  • Prepare healthy nutritious meals for the child /family
  • Provide educational resources and age appropriate activities
  • Develop and encourage creative play
  • Settle children or infants for bed
  • ​Bottle feed infants
  • Drive the child/children to appointments or activities
  • Tidy a child's bedroom/play area
  • Undertake light household duties
  • Maintain knowledge of First Aid and Emergency procedures at all times
  • Bath child and maintain high standards of hygiene
  • Act as a role model at all times
  • Assist with shopping
  • Escort the family on outings

   Want to become a nanny or babysitter?


  • A current Resume (including at least 2 Child care/family references)
  • A minimum of two years experience and/or Childcare/Nanny qualifications or relevant training  (these qualifications can range from a Certificate III in Children's Services to a Bachelor of Education)
  • A current Blue Card (a Blue Card is issued by the Commission for Children, Young People and Child Guardian. The Commission conducts the Working with Children Check to determine whether a person is eligible for a Blue Card)
  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate including CPR (Gold Coast Nannies ensures all staff keep this qualification updated)
  • A current drivers licence/or valid passport
  • Your own reliable transport
  • You should be fit, healthy and have a good understanding of nutrition
  • Nannies may be required to have the following: Insurance, Registered for CCB, Australian Business Number(ABN)
